Meet Sarah — an Australian BHSc-qualified Nutritionist from Victoria’s Surf Coast and founder of Gut Lab. Since 2016, Sarah has supported individuals and families through nutritional medicine, guiding them back to balance through food as medicine, gut health optimisation, low-toxin living, and nervous-system-aware care.
Her work focuses on the deep connections between the gut, brain, and skin, alongside liver detoxification, women’s health, autoimmunity, and building long-term resilience. As a mother, Sarah lives this philosophy daily choosing nourishment over restriction, simplicity over excess, and conscious living while raising her daughter with vitality, freedom, and a close connection to nature.

Temui Sarah — seorang Nutrisionis berkualifikasi BHSc asal Surf Coast, Victoria, Australia, sekaligus pendiri Gut Lab. “As a nutritionist, I don’t see skin as something separate from the body,” Sarah shares. “Skin is a living organ one that reflects digestion, detoxification capacity, immune balance, nervous system health, and nutrient status.”
This perspective is foundational to her work and explains why she always considers both what goes into the body and what goes onto the skin. Skin is not passive it responds continuously to internal health, stress levels, and environmental exposure.

What Is the Gut–Skin Axis?
The gut–skin axis describes the bidirectional communication between the gut microbiome, immune system, nervous system, and the skin barrier.
Research and clinical observation show that:
